It's okay not to be okay

Have you every had one of those days where nothing goes according to plan? Maybe you dropped the container of sugar on your foot, or the dog threw up in the hallway, or your dad is cursed to remain on the flying dutchman and won't listen to your ideas of how to free him. All these things (especially the last one) can oftentimes ruin, or aggravate an already bad day. Sometimes its ok to take a break, call in sick to work, and curl up with your favorite book or binge watch your favorite TV show. Sipping on a warm cup of tea and wrapped in your favorite blanket. It's ok to take a mental health day.

But there are times when that's not possible, maybe you're at work or school and you can't get away. It's okay to break down, it's okay to not be okay. You don't owe anyone a happy face or a smile. I'm going to say it again because heaven knows I've had to tell myself this a hundred times. It's okay to not be okay. It's okay to not be able to continue, that doesn't make you weak. It's okay to not go to that party or not hang out with your friends, that doesn't make you mean or antisocial. It simply means that you need time to calm your mind and redirect your thoughts.

And that's okay.
